| 2. What is a Special or 'S' Class Hotel? | ||
'S' or Special Class hotels are usually renovated and converted historical buildings, or new buildings that cannot be categorized using the normal star rating system. The standard of accommodation and service can range from simple to luxury. Boutique hotels are included in this category. Price is the best measure of the standard of accommodation offered, a double room can cost from €35 to €400 per night. |

| 3. Why are there so few Pensions and One Star Hotels in the Listing? | ||
It is not the policy of Hotel Reservations Turkey to exclude budget accommodation, however the standard of accommodation offered at this level can vary considerably. Within this category there is relatively little control regarding standards of comfort and service. In order for us to be able to recommend pensions and one star hotels we have to be able to verify standards and that they are being maintained. In the Bodrum region where we are based, we are able to offer pension and one star hotel accommodation. However, in other areas budget accommodation is only included on the basis of user recommendation. We will add new budget accommodation in other areas as it becomes available. |

| 6. What are the Hotel Standards in Turkey, and how do they compare internationally? | |||
The criteria used to categorize hotels in Turkey is the same as that used internationally, star ratings range from one to five stars. Pension accommodation generally provides standards at the one star category level, often in family run hotels offering personal service. The number of stars a hotel is awarded is based on the facilities and accommodation provided, however, the level of service and standard of comfort, at any star rating level, can vary considerably in Turkey. This is especially true in the holiday resorts, where some four and five star hotels offer a level of service and comfort one star level lower than their official star rating. To ensure that you receive an unbiased opinion about the suitability of a hotel for your requirements, there is no substitute to booking through an accredited travel agency rather than direct with the hotel. Hotels included in the Hotel Directory Turkey have been recommended and vetted on the basis of user feedback. The Hotel Directory Turkey is designed, updated and administered by Aegean Tour Travel, a member of the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies. |
